Has anyone else tried to open a large (30 minute or longer) mp3 file and then move the time positon slider to a point far into the file? On my unit WMP simply freezes. I can exit, but no matter what I do, if I am listening to a long file, I can't move around to specifc time points.

I would imagine that anyone trying to review long class/lecture mp3's would run into this problem.

1) Can anyone confirm/replicate the problem?
2) Does anyone know if this is a e310 specifc issue or a WMP bug?

I've called Toshiba support about the issue, but the level 1 support people (I've called multiple times) didn't know and the level 2 support team hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Is the MP3 VBR? Does it happen with WMA? Try transcoding the MP3 file to 64 kbps WMA...

Could it possibly be that you just need to give it a little time? It may be that the file is quite large, so that it's taking some time to relocate to the new position?

I have audible and it does this sometimes, the audible files are large, like 64 MB worth, and if I try to fast forward quite a bit, it takes a moment to start at the new position.
