If you're interested in an "alternative" keyboard, check this one out.<br /><br />"One annoying problem with most PDA Keyboards is the use of proprietary connectors, so that people like myself who tend to upgrade often are stuck having to buy keyboard after keyboard (I currently have about 4 keyboards laying around my computer bone-yard.) Pocketop had designed a keyboard, and Micro Innovations is distributing it that should solve this problem. The keyboard when folded is slightly smaller than the Stowaway Keyboard, it has a metal exterior and uses Infrared instead of a proprietary serial connector. This allows you to use this device with most Palm and PocketPC devices that have an Infrared port."

What I'd like to know abot this keyboard is how does it affect battery life? It seems to me that such high usage of the IR port is bound to drain the battery a lot faster than normal. Anyone know about this?

There was a discussion comparing the Micro Innovations keyboard to the Targus Stowaway on Brighthand. I recently purchased the Micro Innovations and returned in favor of the Targus. In short, my opinion is that the Micro Innovations product was solidly built but had some design flaws. I didn't notice any extra drain on the battery. Here's the link:
