I recently found my iPAQ after thinking it had been lost or stolen 3 months ago! Needless to say the battery is completely shot. Just when I was considering buying a new machine, I now have one that is pretty worthless for portability.

So I am wondering if anyone has tried either the services that upgrade batteries for you or installed one yourself.

Also, does anyone have specs on what the mAU of original iPAQ and the replacements are?

Thanks,
John

I think it's 1200 and 1400 mAh but I could easily be and probably am wrong. I do know, however, that the iPaq 3800 series battery lasts infinetly longer than the 3600 did.

The original 3600 iPaq uses a 950 or 1000mAh. Places likes Pocket PC Techs can replace said battery with another stock battery if you like. You might also want to consider the KingRex PGF battery which is rated at 2100mAh.
