Hey all, Im new to this site but love the Pocket PC "potential" but can barely stand the limitations of flash memory...i.e it dies and then so do my apps...

anyway...question: Has anyone seen the new device being developed by www.oqo.com ??

apparently ex titatnium notebook team from Apple...supposedly a full blown 10GB HD and 256 MB ram in the palm of your hand...low battery drain yad yada yada

sounds too good to be true and noone I know has actually "seen one" much less played with it?

check it out www.oqo.com ...they are also quite tight lipped about it

and NO, I dont work there...but if this is real, forget Palm and PPC's this could change everything...

thanks!

Yup, we posted on this a while back.

The question is, even if you somehow get good battery life with a spinning platter of metal (hard drive), what about the apps? How many developers are going to re-write the UI of their apps to fit on a screen like that?

That shouldn't be necessary. It appears to be running at 640x480 or a similar resolution. Don't take my word for it, check out this image (http://www.oqo.com/_images/H.jpg) from the OQO website (warning - very high res, 1234KB). A better question is whether text that small is legible.
