:?: Does anyone know if there is a TV tuner "jacket" for the ipaq ?

There's one for GPS & GPRS and other stuff but wouldn't it be handy to have
one just in time for the world cup !!!!!

I've seen one somewhere, but I think it was a preproduction unit. I know they're out there though. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Yeah, information on a Korean (I believe) product was posted a while back, though nothing has seem to have come of it. Every once in a while I come across a link to it, but I believe for the most part it is dead.

The product is called the Denalian-v TV and FM Receiver. It's an iPAQ sleeve and the URL for the company in Korea is http://www.denali.co.kr/, however, it seems to be dead at the moment. Here's an article by a guy that actually played with one: http://www.insomedia.com/denalianv/

I believe that once the company had finalized the TV Sleeve, the iPAQ 3800 series rolled out. While the TV Sleeve worked great with the iPAQ 3600 series, it did not work with the 3800 series. So my guess is they decided to cut their loses and scrap the project or they are currently re-developing their product to be compatable with the newer iPAQs.

Also, I believe the company was trying to find a US distributor for their product which may have also added to their problems.

I saw in the iPAQ 3900 release info that it will have the ability to control IR supporting devices.

The TV Tuner sleeve had a TV and FM receiver in it, allowing you to watch TV on your iPAQ and listen to FM radio on your iPAQ. It wasn't a TV remote control device.

I saw in the iPAQ 3900 release info that it will have the ability to control IR supporting devices.
