http://skinnerz.net/

Recently, Gene Knight of Thumbs Up Software wrote to tell about a number of very interesting projects and programs that are developing in the Pocket PC community. I'll do my best to summarize what's happened and how it fits into my share of the story.

With the release of GigaTask (exactly what it sounds like: a program in-between iTask and GigaBar) Thumbs Up Software decided to donate fifty percent of the net sales to a new project called Skinnerz. This project/network for skinners exists to support and foster the skinning community. Thumbs Up is doing this because they realize that a dedicated, supported, and compensated skinning community will ultimately help boost their sales. I really hope they succeed, because I'd really like to see skinning remain a community effort. I think it would lose some of the neatness factor if skins were produced in mass quantities by contracted workers. The skinning subset of the general Pocket PC community is very important to the rest of the community, and for everyone's sake I hope that Skinners.Network develops as intended.
