I gotta say that Agenda Fusion has made huge leaps since its inception, and it now blows Pocket Informant away in just about all categories, but mostly in just sheer speed. Unless Alex can make some major changes, I do not see going back to the PI. Updates from Developer One are frequent and very well though out. It somewhat saddens me, because I met Alex Kac at the Pocket PC 2002 launch, and he is a really nice guy!

I use PI3 as my PIM, and I have tried the new version of AF, but I can not really see the speed difference, except when I want to change a general option.

I like both of them, I think the only really advantange that one have over the other is our own taste.

People who have extremely large contact lists (like me) will see the greatest performance difference. I have about 4500 contacts and Agenda Fusion has a dramatic speed advantage. Reports from a number of other AF users with contact lists of comparable size or larger confirm AF's advantage here.

And FWIW, John Psuik is a really nice guy as well! :D

I'm using PI, and would really love to know the pros and cons when compared to AF. I have a really old copy of Developer One's previous product that I never really used...

I will have to trust you on this one, since my contact list is not near as big as yours, heck I don't think I have known 4500 people in my life 8O

It's a corporate phone book that can be downloaded into a PDA. Comes in very handy when I'm offsite, or when the printed directories have disappeared out of meeting rooms.

I don't think I've known 4500 people in my life, either. If these people were all my friends, I'd go broke with my Christmas card list...

Does the today plug in work with 4.2? I can't justify upgrading/repurchasing for $20 if it doesn't work with the old plug it. I wish they would revamp/update the today plugin as it is the ONLY reason I purchased it in the first place (so long ago that I no longer qualify for free upgrades :)

If you are referring to the Agenda Today plugin, yes it does work with Agenda Fusion. You need to install Agenda Today, and only select the Today Plugin. You then need to go to Developer One and download the updates for Pocket PC 2002 compatibility, and also the update to allow the plugin to launch Agenda Fusion. It is rather convoluted, but relatively simple and works well.

Just a few notes :)

1) Pocket Informant 3.1 is in development and we've dramatically improved contacts speed in a few areas. In FileAs - ABC toolbar, category filtering, etc... is instantaneous
2) Calendar speed will be as fast as AF's - or faster
3) AF has released about as many releases as PI has. Both PI and AF go through some times that we don't release anything for a couple months - and then a few releases within a month or a few weeks of each other.
4) We are continuing improvements in a lot of areas - that's all I'll say :)

As I've said many times - and others have said, PI and AF will leapfrog each other constantly. But I still feel that we have a better interface and better featurset than AF - for those that need those features. Interface is very subjective as well.

So instead of constantly announcing the "winner" in this category every other week (some weeks its PI, some weeks its AF), I say its good for people to try out both and see which you like.

...and both DeveloperOne and WebIS are site sponsors, so I love 'em both. :D
