I'm off to Cancun, Mexico, until the 30th on a little "honeymoon part two", and I'll be completely off-line during that time. The rest of the gang here will keep the site purring, but you may see a slow-down in overall news posting. I'll try to think of you all at least once as I sit on the beach reading an eBook - I wonder if getting sand under the Jornada screen would improve things? It might!

In other news, webmaster guru Chris Edwards will be upgrading phpBB to the final 2.0 release, which will hopefully fix some of the outstanding issues some of you have. With the site that is - your other issues are another matter. He'll also be adding some of his special php sauce that will allow us to do cool things like make a post and have it appear at a specific time. Expect us to abuse that for a while because it's so novel. ;-)

I'll miss y'all - enjoy your week, and don't make too much trouble here, ok?

Cancun? Maybe you could retire down there... open a nice little Pocket PC store... do a little consulting...
Oh, heck, have a great time!!!

It seems that with Jason's week long absence, you'll see my return to the site.

A week ago my computer up and died, compleatly disrupting everything I was doing, writing, webdesign work, blogging, sanity, and so forth. Luckly all of my data is safe, but for now I'm calling that computer a compleat loss. While I work to collect pennies to pay for a replacement, I'm using a laptop to carry me through the day to day.

I have a couple of rather lengthy rants/raves to do, in addition to paying more attention to the forums and to news related posts.

I'll see you all around...

Cheers,

If you have the waterproof casing for the Digital Elph, please take a few underwater scuba shots for us, so we can live vicariously through you and the wife... (just don't forget to leave the Jornada on land)

I'm sure a few members in the audience also wouldn't mind a bikini shot of Jason :D

Hmmm... Sam goes away, Jason is very busy with the site. Jason goes away, Sam gets busy. Has anyone ever actually seen these two together at at the exact same time? ;-)

Have a great time Ashley. Hide Jason's PPC power adapter!

Jason? Jason who? I'm not sure I know you you're talking about. I don't know any Jasons who fit that description, sorry.

Jason, I highly recomend the booze cruise that leaves from Fat Tuesdays! Not only is there plenty of drinks, but when you get to the island, it's an all you can eat buffet (yes REAL food) on the beach. Also, during dinner, there's an international dance show (some with fire). If you like to dance, after the show, they provide a DJ and everybody dances on the beach under the stars to the flicker of the tikki torches. A night to remember! I know I do. :)

Ok, so maybe I'm doom & gloom but Jason, doesn't the server go down every time you go away? I hope you've got people on call mate! ;)

Anyway, I hope you have a great time and despite what everyone else is saying, do your wife a favour and ditch all your nerd toys. You'll make her happy I'm sure!

Have a great time!

Daniel

This may be a little late but learn diving! Cozumel's diving is consistently ranked in the top #3 (when not #1) as the world's best diving destination.
