I have used both Ruksun and FTPView, and while they are both excellent programs, be aware that they store your passwords in an unencrypted plain text field within your pocket pc databases. This means that you can use a program, such as the freeware dbView to open and view the tables, and the ones corresponding to at least these two programs have the password big as life sitting in a field in that table. This is really bad, and, although I use the programs frequently, I always delete the connection I created when I am done. This is a serious security flaw. :(

Of course, ftp uses plaintext passwords so it's pretty much a security problem in it's own right. What's really needed is an scp client for the ppc. Anyone heard anything along these lines?

Nice to see my story in a ppcthougths forum (grin).

RC's right, I wanted to include FTPview, but the developer wasn't finished with the new build (great following for the freeware FTPview, several emails came to me already!).

I will update my article with ftpView once Kenny can get his latest out for me to verify PPC2K2 support (older version wouldn't run at all on my Jornada). I'd rather wait and bring it in as an update later.

So, check back often ;-)
