Wow, almost the same size as Palm m515! In inches, Toshiba is 4.9x3.1x0.5 vs Palm at 4.5x3.1x0.5.

I know a big complaint about the Maestro is its battery life. The new one is (still) using an 1000mAh cell. For reference, the Casio E-125's battery is 1400mAh Although, my wife does use the Maestro as a PDA (as opposed to as a MP3 player or a gameboy) and she has not complained about the battery life.

From their web page:

Display size : 3.5 "
type : Reflective TFT colour display
internal resolution : 240 x 320
display area (HxV) : 0.2235 x 0.2235 mm
typical contrast ratio : 10:1
response rise/fall : 15/17 ms

What are the display area specs? Pixel size?

This is Toshiba Europe. Will there be a USA/Canadian version or are they just lagging behind in updating their site since it was demonstrated in Europe today?

AND the Web site claims a TWO-year warranty. Compare that to all the others out there!

Wheres the CF slot? I need 802.11b access. Well I hope there is going to be sleeve of some sort. If not then the Maestro is still looking good to me. I hope they come out with a better battery soon.

Ah crap. It's using a reflective LCD. I'll never touch another device that uses that flawed display technology again.

One word:
64MB!!!

Why is it all the promising form factors are 32MB. NEC, now this ultra thin PDA!!

Beef it up and It'll be mine!
Of course I may just wait and see what HP has up thier sleeves....

Mmmm, no CF in a half and inch thick product. Well, I guess it is possibly... Hopefully with the new SD I/O standards there will be some more wireless cards coming out for SD. In some ways I wish Wes (PDABuzz) had been right that it was $299 because then it would be very competitive with the Maestro.

If I am not mistaken, isn't this the first PPC2K2 device to officially state that it supports SDIO? I haven't seen any of the other OEMs state that their devices support SDIO cards. I could be wrong, however. I do know that my iPAQ 3835 doesn't support SDIO... heck, it doesn't even support speeds faster than MMC through the so-called "SD slot" it has.

Hi,
Yes the iPAQ 3800 series does support SDIO cards.

The Casio E-200 does not nor does the Jornada extended battery with MMC/SD slot.

alrite now we have to wait for its other brother, ummm.. you know what i'm talking about the one built with bluetooth and WiFi intergrated in it, also what else, 400mHz Xscales latest technology, so the pictures weren't fake hey? and people doubted it, ha!

Well half the picture isn't a fake....and asked PDABuzz to take them down a while back which tells you that Toshiba must not have been thrilled. As for the e740, I don't think it will have WiFi and BT...I think it will have just one. I hope it is BT just because it seems to me that BT would work better from inside the device then 802.11b would.

Still nothing on a North American release for the e310... :(

Not that I've tested it (mine coming from Staples Friday, woo hoo for me!), but according to Audiovox's own specs page:

Interface: CF Card Slot (Compact Flash Memory), SD Card Slot (SD Card or SDIO Card), Infrared Port

Sure would be nifty if it's true, then I could get a SDIO Bluetooth card.

Now for the question, could you use a SDIO BT card in one slot, and a CF 802.11b card in the other slot? Say if wanted to connect to the 'net using WiFi, and connect to another device like a phone or another PPC using BT?

Sorry, but the h3800 DOES NOT support SDIO cards. Compaq ackowledged this a while back when people were complaining about the speed of the SD slot. They said that it only supports MMC speeds even though you can use a SD card in it. An SDIO card would require full SD compatibility and full SD-spec speed.
