iPAQ Battery Upgrade

I never had problems with the battery life of my iPAQ, but I was rarely away from the charger for more than 12 hours, and in that time if I had my iPAQ on for 5 hours it would have been a lot. But if you need to have stellar battery life, then the iPAQ probably isn't the right machine for you. <br /><br /><img src="http://www.pdaordie.com/shopping/pgf/PGF01.jpg" /><br /><br />That is until now. The good folks at PDAorDie have announced a replacement battery product for these iPAQs called the Power Gear Force and Power Gear Force-Pro that have 2100mAh of juice, or 1750mAh power with buzzer alarm and vibration features, respectively.

Indeed, the battery is the worst aspect of *any* iPAQ. No other Pocket PC loses that much charge without use as the iPAQ. While other devices lose about 20-25% power while being left for two weeks, the iPAQ H3600 is fully drained in this time. The H3870 seems to lose 1% every 3-4 hours of standby (confirmed with four devices), resulting in about the same standby time despite its stronger battery.

So this won't work on a 3835? :( I'd really like it for my 3835 if it did, the battery life is terrible, even my old E-125s battery lasted longer.

Um... I think that's for 36 PIECES. It doesn't list the price of the Pro model (which looks pretty good to me, how do they do the vibrate thing, anyway).

Actually, I read on the Brighthand Forums that the price converts to approximately $92. Someone, also, indicated that their charge card was charged $106. So the price is basically equivalent to the other american options offered out there for the almost double the capacity.

I ordered mine on the 15th of Feb. and I'm currently waiting anxiously. My battery's life S___s ! I travel to and from work reading a book via Palm reader for 30 - 45 minutes and the charge goes from 100% to 60-70%.

I can't wait for the PGF!!!

I heard somewhere that times2tech, the people who offer the iPAQ memory upgrades will be the US distributers for this product. That, to me, sounds like a great partnership. times2tech has an excellent record and installing a battery might be too much of a challenge for some people.

Hope that rumor about Times2Tech being the local distributor/installer for this turns out to be true. I'm very impressed with the service they've provided in upgrading and repairing my Ipaq.

I've had a 3670 for about a year now with a pc card expansion pack. over the last week or two the battery has been draining to the 50 % level after a few hours of (mostly) on and off use. once it gets to that level it starts warning about loss of data and by god it followed through and I lost at least one file i was working on that day. is the battery shot at the 50% level? does the battery life deteriorate over time? should we expect to replace the battery every year? i put it in the charger every night.
