Is it just me, or is everyone else also drooling over the new "extra bits" that PPC2k2PE has... :)

What I would like is for MS to offer an upgrade (free or small fee) to people with Bluetooth and a Bluetooth capable phone so that we can enjoy this functionality too. <subtext>Damn I want some new whizbang features to play with! But I know it's not going to happen.</subtext>

I think it uninstalls any non-microsoft software from the machine... ;)

You can have a poor mans version for just 8 dollars :?

I have it installed on my 3870 & it works very well..... I can now dial from contacts and pick up the call on the bluetooth headset without ever touching the phone....

I am wanting the same thing. Hopefully, these components can be downloaded for the new CF type phone add-ons I hear about (Pretec)?

8O NO! No, and no!!!
I don't want to buy PocketPC with phone this year because next year 3G phones will be out and then what? Buy next one in 3G standard? This is nonsense!!! I prefer to have separate phone and PDA.

Good question. Is it "Hang up" or just "Hold?"

Since the X has never really closed the app, I would have a feeling that it would still just minimize. That could be dangerous on a phone call though...and hopefully it hangs up when you try and close the app.

Smart-Minimize the caller :P

I have MonkeyDial actually, it's pretty good.

That would be cool, I want the bluetooth connection though.

Smart-Minimize the caller :P

If you start getting smaller when you're on the phone all of a sudden then you have been smart-minimised! ;)

Are most of the modifications in Phone Edition software additions? Since the core of the OS looks generally the same, Phone Edition just has added support for phone hardware I assume with some extra software to run the phone portion. Am I right?

I'd hope it would just minimize, since I'd probably hit it inadvertantly whilst moving over to my calendar to create an appt...

The Changes to the PPC OS as far as I know are just added support for the phone and I think some added conectivity settings for Data dialing.

Agreed. These PDA's pretending to be phones don't excite me much at all. I think the Smartphone concept is worth looking that, though. Minimalist PDA functionality, plus net connectivity all in the phone form-factor sounds good.
