I've been using the Xbox 360 home screen for a while now. It's a great theme, but it lacks the quick calendar view that Samsung's built-in home screen offers. (Now, if only it integrated with my actual calendar and showed that I had something scheduled on a given day) Regardless, I felt it was time to switch back to this calendar, at least for the next couple days until I found something new to use.

Imagine my surprise when I switched the home screen and was presented with this! I wonder how many people will notice the problem here. I'll give you a hint - I took this screen capture today. Anyway, Great job on the quality control Samsung. I guess I shouldn't complain. Who actually relies on their phone to report the correct information. ;-)

Ding Ding Ding!!! I wonder what April looks like....

Just checked and, big surprise, it's wrong as well. :( Guess I won't be using that home screen again.

There's a plugin out there which displays such a calendar though, so you should be able to build a similiar homescreen ;)

I also thinks it's a little odd looking to have the month as a "3" instead of "March". It isn't as if they would have run out of room to put the full date there. :p

I just checked, the same problem is on my original Samsung Blackjack. I can understand why they would mess up on something this simple, but you would think the homescreen would utilize the calendar tools that are already in the OS instead of building their own subpar solution :(

Well, I'm not much of a graphics guy. :( I can certianly provide direction on what I would like. :D

I'm guessing you're talking about Facade, eh? Could it display a basic grid calendar on the screen with a basic indicator of your schedule?

Yeah, I never understood that either.

I use this home screen also on my BJII and I didn't notice the problem until you mentioned it.

Do you think they will send out an update? Maybe they will wait for the WM6.1 update? :-D

Guys, you are not alone! This leap-year bug affacts also the BlackJack and the ACE. So far so bad. The good? A patch for the Samsung BlackJack, BlackJack II and ACE is now available!

FIX: Samsung BlackJack, BlackJack II and ACE Leap-Year Calendar patch available (http://www.theunwired.net/?item=fix-samsung-blackjack-blackjack-ii-and-ace-leap-year-calendar-patch-available)

Please note that this is a Home screen issue only and it neither affects the devices real time clock nor any other calendar functions, including Outlook Mobile, but it's a cosmetic issue of the Home screen plugin which makes it, nevertheless, useless for the rest of the year.

Anyway, I've got my hands on a couple of patches, just small CAB files for your device, which corrects the issue described above. So if you are either using a Windows Mobile 6 upgraded BlackJack/SGH-i607 (the patch isn't working with Windows Mobile 5.0) or a new BlackJack II/SGH-i617 or a recently released ACE/SPH-i325 Windows Mobile Standard smartphone, you might want to install the patch to get the Home screen issue fixed.
Please note that only North American smartphones are affected! Neither the Samsung SGH-i320 nor the SGH-i600 needs this patch - so please don't install it on any other devices than the one mentioned above!

Enjoy! ;)

It's not finished yet. Planning to add a schedule and task page using Facade, one page using the Facade Launcher and one page using phoneAlarm with message indicator, profile and such things.

I don't have a device currently (had to send my Vox in for repair), but I'll finish it as soon as I have a device again (probably getting a Palm Treo 500).
