<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.modumobile.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.modumobile.com/</a><br /><br /></div><p>modu mobile has released a teaser video to help get the masses excited as well as getting our blood pumping. From what I can tell, the modu is a very tiny gadget that appears to plug into stuff. There really isn't much information floating around, but from looking at the video one could assume that with the constant shots of digital cameras, GPS equipment, video games, and other fun stuff in this video that modu might come out swinging in the realm of tying all your digital products together in one little bundle of awesomeness. Until we hear something official from modu though, your guess is as good as mine. In the meantime, enjoy the teaser video below!<br /></p><p><a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/8Fx4WUutlJY&amp;rel=1" class="abp-objtab-06226210252597071 visible" title="Click here to block this object with Adblock Plus" style="left: 425px ! important; top: 355px ! important;"></a></p><a style="left: 425px ! important; top: 0px ! important;" title="Click here to block this object with Adblock Plus" class="abp-objtab-06226210252597071 visible ontop" href="http://www.youtube.com/v/8Fx4WUutlJY&amp;rel=1"></a><a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/8Fx4WUutlJY&amp;rel=1" class="abp-objtab-06226210252597071 visible ontop" title="Click here to block this object with Adblock Plus" style="left: 425px ! important; top: 0px ! important;"></a><embed width="425" height="355" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8Fx4WUutlJY&amp;rel=1"></embed><p> </p>

Seems to me this is like the original iPaq all over again. Conceptually, it seems similar to the iPAQ. Think the slim core "module" as similar to the iPaq (this I suspect is why it's called modu). This I think contains the important bits like the wireless chipset (GSM, UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS), processor, memory, etc. This can then be plugged into other modules for various purposes much like the expansion sleeves of the iPaq.

This could very well be the next "iPhone-esque" phenomenon!

Cool idea, but that is the most annoying commercial I've seen in a while.

I think a key success factor for this is picking a single use, gaining market penetration, and then pushing the other uses. It's too much to say it will replace your phone, home stereo, home PC, car stereo, work PC, and iPod - people aren't that accepting of change. Plus, the price tag would be ridiculous. If they can do one thing well and focus on that, I think this could be a breakthrough product.
