Riyad even gave it a coveted Editor's Choice award when he reviewed it in its guise as the Orange SPV E650. The reason for our fandom was simple. HTC had taken a Windows Mobile Smartphone and made it functional for text creation. Windows Mobile ‘Smartphones' don't have touch-screens, so there was no option for an on-screen tappable keyboard or handwriting recognition such as you find in Windows Mobile Pocket PCs, or, as we are obliged to differentiate them these days, Windows Mobile 6 Standard (smartphone) and Windows Mobile 6 Professional (Pocket PC) devices. All rather confusing especially when the term smartphone is commonly used to describe a phone with advanced, PC-like functionality."

Sandra Vogel has reviewed the HTC S730 QWERTY slider smart phone. The reviewer has compared this unit with the older S710, the non-3G version, and wonders if there are enough updates to justify an upgrade. Check out the review for the final verdict. I love the TouchFLO inspired home screen. Wish it was available as a download for the other HTC smart phones. Our US readers should note that this unit does not support the US 3G networks. The FCC recently cleared the US edition of the S730, codenamed WING200, but details regarding the availability and price are not known at this time.

3G is always worth the upgrade. :)
