http://www.snapstream.com/enterprise/

"SnapStream Enterprise is revolutionary media monitoring technology used by public relations and public information organizations to monitor and respond to TV coverage. A cross between a DVR and a search engine, SnapStream allows you to record and search thousands of hours of TV recordings. One SnapStream TV search appliance can simultaneously record up to 10 TV shows and store more than 2,300 hours of recordings. And it gives you the ability to search within recordings, to pinpoint TV content of interest to your organization. Then clip that content and download clips or burn to DVD — all without any expensive per-clip or per-seat fees."

This isn't something the average home would need, but I thought it was an incredibly cool application of digital video technology. Basically, this is a rack-mountable server with 10 TV tuners (likely five cards with dual tuners) and RAID5 hard drive storage for both redundancy of data and the speed necessary to records 10 TV streams simultaneously. Reading about how the Harris County Sheriff's Department uses one shows you how useful the system can be when you need to track media coverage of an event.

You mean they removed that feature from the product? I haven't used it in a long time...
