With this innovative addition to their photo frame lineup, customers can enjoy photos wirelessly in their home and display photos from sharing sites such as Windows Live Spaces or from personal collections on their PC. The frame works with the Windows Live Photo Gallery, which makes sharing photos with friends and family easy. Users can organize and upload individual photos or albums from their PC to Windows Live Spaces and the photos are ready for display on the frame. Along with the technology licensed from Microsoft Research, the Samsung frame communicates with Windows Media Player and open standards such as RSS."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/samsung_spf-83v.jpg" /><br /><br />I had a chance to test this device when I was in New York a few months ago, and it was quite impressive. <a href="http://astore.amazon.com/digitalmediathoughts-20/detail/B000YA1Z14/104-8147914-2239126">Amazon.com</a> [affiliate] has it for $229, which I think is just a bit too expensive for the size of the screen, but there's no denying that there's some awesome technology packed into this thing...

Screen Size 8-inch (diagonal)
Resolution 800 x 600

Ugh, how disappointing...

With two styles of USB ports — 1 Type-A and 1 Type-B — the SPF-83V delivers valuable versatility. You can download files from your PC or directly from a USB thumb drive and even use the SPF-83V
as a mini-monitor.

But being able to use it as a mini monitor is kinda interesting. :P

Yeah, I keep hoping to see one of those companies move up into the 1024 x 768 range on an 8" screen so we really get some awesome high PPI quality...and it anyone could do that, you'd think it would be Samsung!

I think for an 8 inch screen 800x600 is sufficient, even Deko Elite's 8inch digital frames (http://www.e-bowl.co.uk/category/222) have the monitor function via USB, you need to download a software for this and it is supported only on Windoze
