Built around a cinematic 16:9 aspect ratio 3-inch display, this mini-widebody rips off beautiful 720p stereo movies and 1080i stills at 9 megapixels."

I've been looking to upgrade my compact point and shoot, but every time I find one I think is just about perfect, a newer better one comes out. This is my latest object of lust. Hi def video, 12 megapixel stills, 3" display...looks like the only thing not to love is the price, $400. Ouch.

Indeed, that's quite impressive! The $400 price point isn't too bad, the retail cost of the SD870 I just bought is more than that, so it's in line with other high-end P&S cameras.
