I got my hands on a 16 GB Flash iPod tonight.

No, it isn't the new iPod Touch. I modded my old iPod mini (my 1st iPod) to replace the 4 GB Hitachi microdrive with an A-Data 16 GB "Speedy" Compact Flash card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211170).

I got the instructions here (http://geektechnique.org/projectlab/753/how-to-turn-your-ipod-mini-into-a-flash-based-ipod).

Many people have done this before me, but I've never attempted anything like this before, and I think it's pretty cool. A good way to breathe new life into an old player. I needed to open it up anyway to replace the battery, so swapping out the drive was easy at that point.
