With the Pure-Fi Dream, Logitech is establishing a new category of iPod speakers for the bedroom. With premium audio, an innovative application of motion- and light-sensing technology, a built-in digital AM/FM radio and a dual alarm with battery backup, the Pure-Fi Dream speakers are perfect for any nightstand...Building on the success of the Logitech® mm50 portable speakers, the company’s best-selling iPod speaker system, the Pure-Fi Anywhere speakers offer a rechargeable battery, now with a battery-life indicator; an improved traveling case; and a redesigned, advanced remote control with one-touch access to Shuffle and Repeat. The Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere speakers give iPod owners what they want to complete the portable experience."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/PureFiDreamPreBdrm_CTG.jpg" /> <br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/PureFiAnywhereCompact_CTG.jpg" /> <br /><br />I have to say, I've been looking for a new alarm clock, and the PureFi Dream might be just the ticket. You don't even have to find the snooze button, just wave your hand over the motion sensor to sleep a few more minutes! The only thing that is keeping me away is the price. The PureFi Dream will run $250, and the PureFi Anywhere will run $150. When they come out we should be able to get some hands-on time and post a review.

What I want to see is an alarm clock that lets you set an alarm on it and specify the playlist from the iPod to use with that alarm. I have an iHome iH6 and I've resorted to using the alarm function on the iPod in conjunction with the line-out on an iPod dock and a set of speakers as an alarm clock for this reason.

Well, the Logitech Dream seems to have this: "Never miss an appointment again. Wake up to a buzzer, AM or FM radio, or your favorite iPod® playlist."

It also says "Presets for iPod® playlists and radio stations: Enjoy instant access to your favorite music, without having to navigate your iPod® menus.", which suggests that it can switch playlists for you.

I guess we'll find out when it hits release, but I have to say, I'm more tempted than I should be given the price. It's expensive, but it looks damn impressive too. For me, the hard requirement would be that it has to support iPhones.
