In the first half of 2007 both Europe and North America accounted for $2.2 billion worth of digital camera shipments (13.6 million and 13.1 million units respectively). Compared to the same period last year North America demonstrated the largest overall growth (by unit) of 36%, closely followed by Asia at 33%. Europe slowed slightly with a growth of just 14% with the domestic market (Japan) growing 23%. Growth of DSLR shipments was up across the board; Japan up 69%, Europe up 68%, North America up 61%, Asia up 136% and Others regions up 87%."

A pretty nifty report on the latest in digital camera sales. I am not surprised by the fact that the digital camera market has been growing and certainly not surprised that DSLR sales are up so much. However, I feel that one thing missing in this report is whether cell phone camera sales numbers is included in this report or not.
