It has a built-in speaker to enjoy music without ear buds, to play your favorite music, and listen with your friends & family. Plus it comes with two headphone jacks. You also have the ability to play and share SD cards loaded with your favorite songs. (A SanDisk SD Memory card included) Changing songs on the Sansa Shaker is a snap – or rather, a “shake”. You can impress your friends by shaking the device to jump to the next song, or use the colorful controller bands for forward and backward changing as well to manipulate volume. The Sansa Shaker is available in a choice of colors, and comes equipped with a USB cable, lanyard, pre-loaded songs, and a colorful array of stickers so kids can customize their device. A AAA battery is included which allows up to 15 hours of music life when using headphones."

This product was announced a couple of months ago, but now it seems to be shipping, and at a low price point to boot: a mere $39.95 USD will get you a blue or pink Shake. 512 MB of built-in RAM, with options for expansion via SD cards, round out the offering - and a nod to what the kids want comes in the way of two headphone jacks for music sharing with a friend, or listening via the external speakers when the whole playground wants to rock out. Oh yeah, and you can skip to the next song by shaking it - obviously not meant for the grade two jogging demographic...

From the title, I thought maybe it charged by shaking it, like the induction flashlights. Still, this looks pretty well thought out for the kids that it is intended for. Now, how about a more adult looking version with similar features (and maybe an alarm clock) at a similar price.

Nice to finally see somebody innovating and thinking out of the box in the DAP space. First truly new player since the Rio days. I agree an adult version with an alarm clock would make sense. Or maybe an office paperweight form factor...
