The revolutionary Soundwave digital mp3 player looks like the original G1 Soundwave transformer but conceals alot more. The cassette dock opens up to reveal a SD card drive (SD card not included) to actually play mp3 music in robot or walkman mode. Headphone jack is located at the top of the player and is compatible with standard ear buds and the official Transformer headphone set."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/SoundwaveMP3Player.jpg" /> <br /><br />MP3 Player. Soundwave. 'Nuff said. Hey, if Jason can post on a <a href="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9776&highlight=spiderman">Spider-Man case mod</a>, I get to post on the Soundwave MP3 player. Have a great weekend everyone! :D

That's SO cool! But yeah, I wonder why they didn't make it blue? Maybe making it grey keeps it vague enough to avoid official transformer licensing....?

They're listing it as a preorder. It's not actually a produced item yet, so the pictures we're seeing are pics of the production prototype, which are usually gray (they haven't painted it yet). The final will be blue to match Soundwave's normal colors, and I believe they're also releasing it in iPod-esque white.

P.S.: Takara owns the rights to the Transformers in Japan and most of Asia (it's Hasbro here in North America).

hi all, i'm new to this board, but have been trying to research this Godsend of a Transformer for a couple of hours. i know i'm going to get one. i just have a couple questions you might be able to help me with:
1. anyone know if it's MP3 only, or WMA compatible too? (and will it have a ridiculous iPod/Mac-like "lock-out" system for a false sense of security?)
2. i'm guessing USB 2.0 interface? an fm radio would be a nice addition, and i know for a fact they can be bought from $1.00 stores; it'd make Soundwave that much cooler.
3. any difference between "MiniSD" cards and "SD" cards? i'ver heard both terms used for this wonderful goodie....

and i'd like to give a thumbs up to the poster who pointed out that the gray color is very common for pre-production molds. i too was thrown off by this until it hit me (like other collectibles i've seen prototypes of). yup, grey is just pre-production standard. expect the real-deal.

cheers,
