Of course, once you've created the file, you can then burn a Blu-ray disc with the ISO image if you have an external Blu-ray burner handy or – most likely the case – just play the movie back from its hard drive or attached storage (via Gizmodo, PS3NEWS). Ahhhh, the beauty of having full access to hack your system (more details on the dd command)."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/ps3news_blu-ray_iso.jpg" /><br /><br />Not sure if this actually works since I would assume there is some encryption to overcome just as with a normal DVD. If it does, this seems like a big blow for security on the PS3.

If this actually does work, it's just more proof that Hollywood needs to give up the DRM fight. All they are succeeding in doing is making it harder for people that actually BUY their stuff to use it the way they want to. Those who has already decided to they won't pay for it will ALWAYS find a way to circumvent a "digital lock".

Hollywood's lock down on DVD's has effectively neutered the PMP market, since only criminals in the US can actually carry their DVD's on one of these things. Compare that to the iPod model where everyone can simply rip their CD collection and carry it portably. Makes you wonder how many more DVD's Hollywood would have sold if they allowed people to make a fair use copy, doesn't it? Oh, well, some morons never learn.
