TiVo's newest initiative, called Program Placement was announced Tuesday, just before a judge rejected a request by EchoStar Communications for a new trial in an ongoing patent dispute. I watch my show, finish, then tell the DVR to delete the show and it asks if I want to watch a commercial? How about… oh I don’t know… I want to delete the show instead? It would seem that to participate in the world of advertising you first must bludgeon yourself with a heavy object until all rational thought is removed.
