Minutes before the clock struck 7:00 A.M. and Sony's new PlayStation 3 console would officially go on sale, a company representative addressed the crowd of media and the new face of early bird game console buyers - Chinese nationals. "Everybody, the PlayStation 3 is the door to a new world of interactive entertainment," the spunky Japanese rep trumpeted as SCE CEO Ken Kutaragi joined her on stage."

This is a long post about how crazy the lines are for the PS3. Reminds me of the XBox 360 rush from about a year ago. The PS3 finally launched and about 88K+ devices flew off shelves in Japan in less than 2 days. Unfortunately, due to blue-ray problems, Sony only released 100K devices so it will be interesting to see how Sony keeps up with demand. Anyways, Gizmodo has a nice and quick UI walkthrough of the PS3 that you might be interested in seeing.
