For ¥1,440,000 ( $12,500) you get a full 1080p, D-ILA based projector that would be great for a dedicated home theater setup. The projector's brightness is only 600 lumens so you really need to watch the ambient lighting with this guy. It makes up for it though with a decent 2,500:1 contrast ratio and a high resolution of 2048 x 1536. This unit will be available on July 1st."

My immense joy turned into a pile of crap when I read that price tag. 8O Well, at least the price tag got me thinking about the quality of the picture. My question is - would you really notice the difference between 1080i and 1080p on a projector. I know there are already some who believe that most will not be able to tell the difference between the two on DLP or plasma or LCD. But my question is - would the difference be even less on a projector? I only feel this because usually there is a great distance between a mount projector and the projection screen.
