Do you know why this:

...is such a beautiful picture? Because it's a photo from my brand new Nikon D200, courtesy of Henry's (http://www.henrys.ca), only a few days after I called them - man I'm impressed!. No defective sensor (http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/index.php?topic_id=10135) here! I'm learning to enjoy the D200 more and more, especially now that Digital Media Thoughts community member Lee Yuan Sheng helped me find the auto ISO function. ;-) More from me on the D200 later, but now I finally feel like I can really dig into it.

Let the party begin! Good to see this was solved in a swift manner.

Very nice! Not quite as sharp or detailed as the wall shots I get out of my Canon camera, but still... very nice!

hi

i work in a pro photostore for a living and read that you have bought the superb Nikon D200 and that you commented that you now use Auto ISO setting. I just have to warn you that iso is the only setting on a camera I would not switch to auto as it too often calculates things wrong. except for that have fun!! Ive sold the camera to 50 customers where i work and all of them have been very pleased

:)

Welcome to Digital Media Thoughts!

I just have to warn you that iso is the only setting on a camera I would not switch to auto as it too often calculates things wrong.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and do some testing...

The D200's Auto ISO setting can be controlled, and it won't do anything nasty unless you tell it to. One of the brilliant features on the D200.
