Ltd. KS , the world's second-biggest maker of large liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, raised on Thursday its forecast for 2006 global LCD sales amid booming demand for flat-screen televisions. Asia's most valuable technology company expects the large LCD panel market to grow to 265 million units this year, compared with 256 million units it forecast in January. The revised forecast, in a statement on Samsung's Web site (<a href="www.sec.co.kr">www.sec.co.kr</a>), represents a 30.5 percent growth from 203 million units sold in 2005."</i><br /><br />There's no stopping the mad rush of "LCD everywhere" we're seeing, and it's great news because you know a big chunk of those are for HDTVs, and the faster HDTV market penetration ramps up, the more HD content we'll see. Bring it on!

I rescently decided to bite the bullet and get my first true lcd monitor (aside from my laptops) and got dells 2005wfp and couldnt be happier. I was so sure I would replace my monitor with another 19 or 21inch crt, but I finally got sick of the heat output and sheer size of the beast and the dell was on sale so I bit the bullet. Of course it helped I upgraded to a 7800gs at the same time so I can actually play my games at 1680x1050, but man its like night and day from my old crt. More colors, so crisp, and the damn thing weighs a phone book.
