That's pretty amazing, the difference in detail.

The shots look great, but I especially like the difference seen in the close up shot of Gandalf (shot 7). Along with everything else, you can really see a difference in the detail of his hair.

I'm not sure why the HD pictures appeared darker, but I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation.

Aside from the all the dynamics associated with the format wars, this example alone makes me more eager for HD.

Get an Xbox 360. Download the various HD (720p) movie trailers on the Xbox Live marketplace (for free). Be amazed.

I thought the detail of the map was really telling, also the hair in Gandalf and Aragorn's beards.

I makes me more depressed that my HDTV only has Component Inputs. :evil:

Yup!
They look great.
I love the Narnia and X3 trailers.
But, for true amazement, try the 1080p IMAX samples from the Window Media site.
My server PC can't play them but it sure can stream them to the 360, which plays them out at native 1080. They actually look a bit better than the actual shows do on InHD...
