I'm curious about something: when you buy an iPod Video, do you get any video transcoding software? Or is the assumption that you'll just download pre-made iPod content?

http://www.apple.com/itunes/sync/

"Sync Your Video
The new iPod supports video syncing from iTunes, so you can take all your music videos, TV shows and home movies on the road. Just plug in the new iPod and iTunes Auto-Syncs videos and video playlists just as it does songs and music playlists. If you enjoy the occasional video podcast, iTunes will sync that to your new iPod, too. Oh, and if you have your own home movies in MOV (QuickTime), MPEG or MP4 format, you can now use iTunes to convert them to an iPod-compatible format with just a few clicks."

There are also 3rd-party transcoding solutions to convert video formats other than those supported in iTunes.

Only MOV, MP4, or MPEG? Ok, that's about what I thought, thanks!

The guys who made that one for the PSP have a free app for ipod videos now too. I have yet to try it on mine though.
