The company acknowledges that initial adoption of the formats will be slow, but it believes high-definition formats will eventually replace standard DVDs as prices fall. Toshiba expects to launch its first HD DVD player in March, and Blu-ray players will likely follow in May."</i><br /><br />I don't know if I have mentioned this before but I have been totally hooked onto Netflix for some time now. I am so happy to hear of this move on their part. I am glad to see a company like Netflix capitalizing and expanding to new video/disc formats without getting hung-up on trying to choose sides in the format war.

I love netflix. However, I'll stick to my plain old lo-res DVDs until there is one format. No way am I wasting money on a DVD player to have it go out the window in a few years. If every consumer did the same and let the players rot on the shelves, Sony and Toshiba would get back together and come up with one format.
