Xbox 360 Faceplate is Good as Gold

I'm sure there's plenty of professional athletes and "recording stars" that will happily pay for that kind of bling.
Of course, the one in the picture is just the core version; I'm sure they'll soon add aPremiere edition encrusted with jewels for the ones who want to experience the full impact of a game console that needs two full time bodyguards.

Although, come to think of it, that applies to anybody who goes out in public with one in hand, no? :twisted:

Three things give this away as fake.

1- The title says poor man's faceplate. What poor man has 36k for an xbox face?

2- There are no shots of the back which would give it away as a fake

3- That texture is produced by one thing: spray paint.

Things he could have done better to fake it:
- had it gold chromed
- spray painted but then lightly run over it in one direction with wet 10k mesh emery cloth (would have given it a brushed appearance instead of the faint orange peel it has)
- not replied to every challenging email- only he can read the original emails anyway, why's he blabbing about it?
- taken a Foredom or Dremel and smoothed out any "give away" evidence on the back and shown it.
