Designed as a living-room computer, the rack-style black-and-silver set is comprised of two separate components: a sleek Media Center PC and a large multidisc changer. The two parts connect via FireWire cable and can sit either on top of each other or side by side."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/31563801-2-300-overview-1.gif" /> <br /><br />If you have been waiting for a MCE based DVD changer, your wait is over. This is a pretty slick looking system and CNET gave it a favorable review. Personally, I think that anyone that would want a DVD changer to have all of their media available on-line at any time probably has more than 200 DVD's (I have more than 200 with just "Star Trek" in the title  ).

So, this is their response to the draconian DRM they've been infecting people's computers with.

Now that is just plain dumb. I saw a similar unit at Microsoft. The media center group is working on integrating with it under the 'My DVDs' menu. The problem? It costs $9,000!!! Who would pay that, seriously?

Lets see I could spend 9K to hold a hundred DVDs for easy play OR I could buy a couple of cheap 300G drives for around $300 and store ripped DVDs on them. I consider ripping DVDs that I own for this purpose to be 'fair use'.

I wouldn't trust a Sony trash compactor.

If Sony made socks, you'd get Athlete's foot a day after wearing them.
