Can this be done with a VHS player / DVD Recorder combination unit ?

Can anyone recommend a unit that will do this I have a lot of old home vhs tapes that I would like to quickly transfer to DVD (no editing required). I got a quote from a company to do this but they wanted a ridiculous amount of money (£75 for 6 hours). I have around 50 hours of VHS to transfer.

Thanks

I'm not aware of any DVD/VHS unit that can directly copy from the tape to DVD, but I'm not by any stretch an expert on this.

I have a Toshiba DVR, to which I hook up an old VHS player, then record directly from there. Quick and painless.
