Amplifying software?

Does anyone know of any software that will allow my computer and speakers to act as amplifiers? It's so if I play guitar for a couple friends in my dorm room I can be a bit louder and I can mix the sounds so it sounds better. I have the Klipsch ultra 5.1 speakers which pump out 500 watts, so I know I have enough power, but I just need the means.

And yes, I have an amplifier, but bringing a whole electric guitar setup to college is a bit overkill, considering I don't play with a band or anything here. I just want to pump up my acoustic.

Something like this should do the trick:

There are only two 1/4" inputs there, so that might not be enough, but you get the idea. I'm not entirely sure how the software part would work though...?
