For instance the desktop and tablet versions had a tan background with and showed two to three rows of content depending on screen resolution and orientation, while the Media Center version showed one row of content, had a background and colors optimized for display on a TV and the controls were laid out differently so that they were optimized for navigation with a remote control."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/netflix.jpg" /> <br /><br />I have to admit I'm quite impressed. Building this type of application around existing RSS feeds just shows you how powerful Avalon is. Just think of the possibilities that can happen.

Well, that's true, but it really shows how powerful XML is. I'm glad Microsoft is finally embracing this great standard in more of its products.

I'm actually beginning to get excited about Longhorn...oops, Vista. These features compare well to Tiger. Hey, at least Microsoft is doing a good job copying Apple...and then some. :P

Now if Netflix would start providing pay-per-view streaming media content to the MCE, then I would be impressed (that's what I thought the article was at first). Hey Netflix, what do you think? Instead of waiting to get the DVD in the mail, just give it to me on demand. When I want another movie, just deactivate the old movie when you activate the new one. I'd easily pay $50/month for this sort of subscription... And you would force Blockbuster to again drop millions to launch a new video rental system that they didn't want... Just as long as you could provide it at the same resolution as DVDs (720p). I know, wishful thinking...
