Considering modern microarchitectures can't hit 4GHz on stock cooling and consumer-level 3.5" hard drives haven't hit 1TB capacities, let's just say we don't recommend anyone invest in any stock options. The company claims this notebook is the world's first consumer wireless super notebook computer. The notebook does not employ a Hard Disk and is completely based on solid state AtomChip optoelectronics [except the mechanical Optical Drive: DVD Super Multi]. The new non-volatile Quantum-Optical RAM increases the speed of the system, since there is no need to refresh information after every cycle of reading of information, unlike regular RAM."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/laptop.jpg" /><br /><br />Umm, ok?!! I read this article a few days ago and I would like to see it to believe it. I mean, even I can make up some fancy numbers. I mean, if these numbers were anywhere close to being true, I think their stock would be kicking even Google's ass. Amusing that they say that the notebook will be unveiled at the 2006 CES and will probably sell for $8500 - $15,000. I feel like I should go to CES just so I can see it.

... in a related announcement, the tech world was surprised today when Intel "threw in the towel", laying off thousands of workers, and closing their doors. "There's just no way we can compete with that kind of speed." an Intel engineer was overheard to say. "If we tried getting a P4 to that kind of speed, it would be the equivalent of a nuclear meltdown!"

A press release is expected from AMD shortly, in which it is expected to rename its processor line in light of the new competition. Industry buzz is that the latest Athlon 64 chip will be based on the "Apocalypse" core, and will be named the FX Super-duper 6800+.

Another surprise announcement came from Apple, who has indicated that it has entered into an exclusive deal with Atom Chip Corporation to supply memory for the next generation of iPods. The new "5G" iPods are expected to debut within the next two weeks, and will be available in sizes of 1TB, 2TB, 8TB and 16TB. "We understand that our customers expect to be able to carry the entire knowledge base of the world, and we intend to deliver that capability to them".

Look closely. The hardware in the pictures is made from a few 3.5mm stereo connectors, a couple CD drive laser lenses, and a standard compact flash card with IDE adapter board. Add some super glue, a few fancy labels, and you have vaporware.

Nice.
