Around the middle of next year, HP will ship an LCD television with more intelligence than the company's current lineup of digital televisions, says Steve Nigro, senior vice president and general manager in HP's Imaging and Printing Group. That television will have a digital media receiver built into the unit that will let viewers access their content stored on a home PC or download new content from Internet services."

HP consistently seems to be releasing products that have great specifications, but that people don't really want. This is an admirable concept, but I have to wonder how much more functionality the average consumer could get by just connecting an Xbox 360 to their existing LCD TV. Great idea, but too little, too late in my opinion.
