The reason for the action appears to be two fold: 1. The slump in physical CD sales (which is debatable), and 2. The growing popularity of music download services. Edgar Bronfman Jr., Warner Music's chairman and CEO, states e-label will "inspire further technological innovation and will accelerate the growth of legitimate digital music services."</i><br /><br />Better buy those CDs while you still can. With quotes like this from Warner Music, you have to believe that the physical CD is dead. Actually the more I read that last quote by Bronfman Jr, the more I'm sure they'll screw it all up, again.

How does this work with the strategy of putting 1-2 good songs on a 12 song CD? They would now have to manage at least 1 out of three good songs which is quite a jump in quality.
