Music Unlimited in the United States last week, Yahoo on Monday announced it was opening its music service for consumers in Japan. Yahoo will make available 100,000 tracks and allow customers to listen to full songs before buying - the first music store to offer such capability."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/music.gif" /><br /><br />Japan is open season for music download services like iTunes and Yahoo. It should be interesting to see if Apple will carve out a dominant swath in this infant space (as it did here in the US) or if Yahoo or some other competing service will grab the top spot. Yahoo should stand a good chance.

They can have it. I am cancelling my subscription. Nothing more frustrating than sitting down to listeneto music and get nothing but DRM license errors. i amsin the process of buying CDs I found on yahoo from Amazon.

I, on the other hand, am enjoying their subscription service (signed up for a year). I am using their YME to transfer downloaded/linked tracks to my Carbon and SMT 5600 and it's been trouble-free so far (knock wood).

Just curious, Ed: are you downloading or linking tracks and what are you using to transfer to what device?

DRM license errors

What kind of DRM license errors are you getting? While I agree that nothing beats digitizing one's own CD collection but YME's service is very good (especially at $60 a year) and I have not encountered any DRM errors. Granted, I do not use a digital media player with that service - is that where you are getting the errors?
