Will be giving myself a higher end digicam for Christmas.

Seriously looking at the Nikon Coolpix 8800. Looks real good so far in my searches for reviews. I want the video clip capability.

Christmas is a long time away. There's a good chance some nice cameras will appear between then and now. The new Panasonic FZ-30 is an example.
