Too much effort and too much time. But the quest for a good way to rip DVDs goes on as my Disney movies continue on their path to destruction at the hands of my two-year old. Enter MoviePro, an app that has had limited popularity in its own little world of Yahoo Groups for awhile now but has never quite gotten to a level of mass appeal for various reasons. The developer has corrected a few of the nagging bugs, and more importantly for the future of the app has released the VB source code. "

MoviePro is one handy program that for getting those valuable DVDs quite safely backed up automatically. It is a freeware program that converts DVD movies into Windows Media video with 5.1 audio and gets all the details about the DVD from IMDB. MoviePro is a bit tricky to use, so you might want to check out the above link to the Nears before trying out MoviePro yourself.

Who knows, I might even be able to improve upon MoviePro someday when I can afford Visual Studio 2005 (not released yet) and find some spare time to convert the code from VB to C#. ;)
