The only difference between the Nano and its former incarnation is the name on the front of the device. That said, we decided to take it for a test run."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/Zen_Nano.jpg" /> <br /><br />The introduction of the iPod Shuffle seems to have reinvigorated interest in small flash players. The 1GB version costs the same as the 1GB iPod shuffle so if you want a screen to see your song titles and some more features such as voice record and FM tuning, the Zen Nano Plus might be a smart look and lets face it, few companies have the experience with these micro flash players than Creative.

I just purchased one of these for my oldest son. It is a very impressive little device. I am quite jealous. It makes my tiny 128MB MuVo TX pale in comparison.

I have the Muvo like this and love it. The big feature for me was that you could load music to it directly without using any special software. Plus the FM recorder is pretty cool.

I've had my eye on this for my pre-teen nephew. However, I've been holding off because I want a flash-based player that will work with a music subscription service (e.g., Yahoo! Music Unlimited).

This does, or should. It has the blue Play Anywhere logo on the box.

On the box, does the PlaysForSure sticker have Audio Subscription checked? I may have to track one down and look because nothing on the PlaysForSure or the Creative website specifically says it will work with subscription.

The Microsoft logo is a step in the right direction for the non-iPod players. However, it could be confusing still with the Audio/Video Download/Rental(?)/Subscription stuff.

Well, when the installer started, Audible Manager was checked as an option to install, so given it is on the CD, it seems to be supported. :)

Not sure, what with the smiley and all, but you do know Plays-for-sure audio subscription=Janus DRM(Needed for xxx-to-go music), not Audible audio ebooks, right?

Just checking.

Cause a friend of mine got one of these for his kid and we were trying to see if it was -to-go capable with no luck.
He wants to plug the kid into a yahoo subscription to keep him on the straight and narrow...
It's cheaper than having to hire a lawyer to keep him out of jail, anyway. 8)

Oh, sorry. I read "audible" in the post, not Audio. Whoops. The box says PlaysForSure and has a green "Audio" bar. Nothing about subscriptions.

This is what the box has (the green one, not the orange one):

The below images do not exist on the box, checked or otherwise.

It seems to be taking a long time for a Janus compatable flash player to come out.

I enjoy the unlimited music with the to go subscriptions...but I can't wait until I can enjoy it while jogging.
