I longed for a HD DirecTiVo to replace my current (hacked) DirecTiVo box. Last month I called DirecTV to inquire what my options were, and that's when trouble started."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/hdtivo.jpg" /><br /><br />This is rather disturbing news, especially since I happen to be a DirecTV customer myself. :(

Not.
Good.
I'm not happy with my cable and have been wondering about DirecTV's promised "500 channels of HD" but this sounds likeit'll be a year or more before theyget their act together.
And I'm not sure what the heck that FCC decision is about; who are they trying to protect? Advertisers?
Oh, well; time to start researching DISH...
