You can see it as well as all the products they are showcasing this year on their <a href="http://www.samsung.com/common/microsite/exhibition/ices2005/base.html">interactive website</a>. One product that caught my eye was the stylish DVD Jr (L-25) Handheld Player. DVD Jr (L25) specifications include; DVD Handheld Player, 2.5” TFT LCD Screen, 3” Mini DVD Discs, Kid Friendly, Digital Audio (mp3), JPEG (photos), CD-R/RW Playback (3” format), 4 Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery (AA), 2.5 hours playback time"</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/dvdjr.jpg" /> <br /><br />How much DVD content can fit on a 3" Mini DVD disk? I'm guessing not much but as something to playback Sponge Bob Square Pants, this might be just the ticket.

A whole DVD.

Well, provide that samsung'sinvestment in DivX works out and they secure agreements with the major studios to encoded and release the content (DRMed, of course) as DivX files on those 3" DVDs.

Likely?

Nah. :)

aww so close.. but so far. mini dvd and mp3 would have rocked hardcore, the dvd playback would have been a bonus, but like the sony portable dvd/mp3, this unit is stricken by the 2.5 hour playback on one charge.. soooo lame. Maybe if you could turn the screen off during music playback?

btw you could easily produce many movies onto a mini dvd that would look just fine on a 2.5 inch screen. Id be more worried about finding one of those old gameboy screen maginifiers. ;)
