It is designed to be tied into your existing home entertainment center, acting as a home media server with a 40 GB hard drive to store music, pictures and video."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/MediaReady4000.gif" /> <br /><br />All I can say is look at all those inputs! 8O The style is a little to 1980's for me, but maybe it's all retro. Anyway, the player supports almost all formats (well, all but WMV and WMA) and it does have a parallel port on the back (hmm, a nice dot matrix printer might look good with that style). The Lafayette MediaReady 4000 is available at <a href="https://www.vwbinc.com/secureorder.html">Video Without Boundaries</a> for $449 and includes an infrared keyboard and wireless remote, both with built-in trackballs.

It doesn't even look 1980s. It's just not attractive. It's not ugly too.. just kinda blah. Nice featureset though.

I wonder if this Lafayette is related to Lafayette Radio Electronics, the Radio Shack competitor whose catalogs I drooled over in the 1960s. I would dream about their CB radios, reading every word in the catalog descriptions.
