http://mediaportal.sourceforge.net/index.html

"Media Portal turns your PC in a very advanced Multi MediaCenter / HTPC. It allows you to listen to your favorite music & radio, watch your video's and DVD's, view, schedule and record live TV and much more. You get Media Portal for free/nothing/nada/noppes and best of all it is opensource. This means anyone can help developing Media Portal or tweak it for their own needs!"

This new media center software has got an impressive feature list as e.g., support for plug-ins, skinnable interface, RSS newsreader, and weather!

Be aware that this is version 0.1 which means that it is still in beta and maybe buggy. For an open source software in beta, the list of requirements is quite long. 8O However, it seems my old analog TV tuner card should be supported which means that I will try this out maybe later today. ;)

Wow, open source goodness. Thanks for this post. I'll keep an eye on this for future updates, as I plan to build a media pc in the coming year.
