What to think about the all new BenQ 720, on which we've reported EARLIER. In fact, it turns out that the JoyBee 720 (yes, it's got a name now) will use a 5GB micro-hdd from Seagate. However, they're not excluding other manufacturers of micro-hdd's to join their production line . The JoyBee 720 is kinda...tall - even larger than the Mini, as well as wider and somewhat thicker + heavier, battery life is only so-so (still better than 8 hours, like the Mini or Samsung's upcoming YH-820 colorscreen mini-DAP will have). It'll come available within a matter of weeks, supposedly. Now, you probably want to know what a thing like this will cost us? Ok, advertised SRP on BenQ's site mentions a figure close to 310 euro or $ 390. Not exactly what we'd consider to be a generous offer but then again - prices will vary from region to region. Apple might have to answer with their own version. The only problem I see is price. $400 is WAY too much for a 5GB player even if it does have color. Still, we are begining to see some players out there that will start eating away at Apple's marketshare and they will have to do more than just put a color screen on to existing iPods.
