View Full Version : Where the heck are car stereo manufacturers?

I bought the Aiero WiFi/FM MP3 player awhile back and I love it. It syncs with my desktop playlists automagically and I haven't had out of my car since the last ROM update.

Now I just bought a smartphone with bluetooth and a WMP 10 and I'm just kind of shopping around for a bluetooth hands free kit. Plus I've got a couple of other wireless gadgets.

So it occurs to me:
Do car stereo makers have a clue that all this stuff is going on?

Sure many can play MP3 encoded CDs, but how about a USB slot so I can just play 'em from my storage card.

I'll even go one better: how about a bluetooth savvy car stereo that supports both the audio and stereo audio profiles. Then I can play music from my phone or PDA, plus get the hands free phone feature as well.

I think some smart car stereo maker out there could really come out with a killer device. Sure people like their iPods or other portable MP3 players, but EVERYBODY with a car has a car stereo. Why not tap into this market?
